Service Description

8 hour tour for 1-4 guests Launching from Belle River Landing, this full-day, round-trip Eco-Adventure will highlight the unique diversity of this region beginning with a tour of old growth cypress swamp, then through the Port of Morgan City to explore the fresh water marshes south of the intracoastal canal. A full day allows for a more immersive experience with time to meander through the maze of bayous and canals north of Flat lake before merging with the main Atchafalaya river to head further south through the Port of Morgan City into the freshwater marshes. Topics of Discussion include: Nature Study based observations of local Flora and Fauna Atchafalaya levees and Mississippi River flood control system Survey of natural resources provided and industries served by this eco-system Ongoing and planned restoration projects Port of Morgan City infrastructure and a shift toward wind energy Local Cultural history
