Service Description

4 hour tour for 1-4 guests Launching from Belle River Landing, this half-day, round-trip Eco-Adventure will explore the flora and fauna of the surrounding cypress swamp from a Nature Study perspective by boat. This area is a wonderfully remote trip into even on short boat trips! Soon after leaving the dock, the only other people we are likely to see are fisherman harvesting wild crawfish. Topics of discussion include: Local flora and fauna Atchafalaya levee and flood control system Oil and gas industry infrastructure and canals Water flow and management Ongoing and planned restoration projects Survey of natural resources and industries served by this eco-system Local Cultural history
